Tie-dye

one day I was in Hobby Lobby and came across the tie-dye kits that are supposed to be color fast. I picked up a kit that included die colors in red blue and yellow. I also picked up two extra colors one purple and one ultra bright red.

I went to Wal-Mart and purchased extra rubber bands, dish washing gloves and several (maybe 18+) 100% cotton shirts. This was a great experience for the kids and they learned a lot. I washed them 2 or 3 times in hot water and dried them before testing them with my other laundry.

Here is a hint for color testing. Use an old sock in your with your newly dyed items to test and see if the color is still leaking. Use ultra hot water and extra hot for drying.
